PURPOSE:To provide a brick having the sufficient durable property to receiving of a special steel contg. a Ca alloy by constituting the brick of a compd. consisting of specific ratios of partially stabilized zirconia and metal silicon powder specified in grain size and carbon powder. CONSTITUTION:The refractory powder compd. consisting of >=53wt.% partially stabilized ZrO2 of <=10 mesh, 1-7% metal Si powder of <=100 mesh, 3-10% carbon powder and if, necessary, 0-30% unstabilized ZrO2 is used. This compd. is mixed by using an org. binder and is subjected to stages including molding reduction calcining in coke impregnating of pitch calcining to obtain the brick. The sliding nozzle plate formed by adhering this zirconia carbon material to the periphery or the entire part of the nozzle by a refractory adhe sive agent does not generate the abnormal erosion as encountered with the conventional alumina carbon plate even if said plate receives the special steel. The excellent durable property is thus provided to the brick. |
