The invention concerns the mode of operation of a circuit arrangement for operating engraving systems for engraving printing formes in which the electric control signal for an electromagnetically powered engraving system is first supplied to a storage stage, a correction signal is derived from the signal during storage, and on completion of storage the correction signal is transmitted together with the original control signal to the engraving system. The correction signal is output to the engraving system before the original control signal.
