PURPOSE:To improve job efficiency by predicting the required time from the start to its end during the execution of file transfer so as to make the job time of file transfer scheduled. CONSTITUTION:A file input section 7 of a primary station and a file input section 8 of a secondary station are inputted respectively on a screen 6 of a terminal equipment 5 connected to a computer 3 of the primary station and the file size is read from the directory of an auxiliary storage device 4 of the primary station by the input file name and supplied onto a display section 10 of the screen 6. Moreover, a prescribed quantity of data is read from the file in the device 4 and sent to the computer 1 of the secondary station. After the end of transmission, the data quantity is counted and sent to the display section 10 of the transferred file on the screen 6. Finally, an end message is sent to a display section 11 of the screen 6.
