PURPOSE:To utilize an ink ribbon to its edges by supplying obliquely the ribbon with respect to the moving direction of a printing head. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 1 is moved substantially horizontally with respect to a platen, and a printing sheet 3 placed on the platen is printed by the head 1 through an ink ribbon 2. In this case, the ribbon 2 is supplied between the head 1 and the sheet 3 so as to be oblique with respect to the moving direction (horizontal direction) of the head 1. As a result, the head 1 can print in a region designated by a shade between A and B. Thus, the printing is efficiently performed by using the whole ribbon 2. |
