PURPOSE:To contrive to execute the measurement with high accuracy by generating a reference signal for gating an output signal of an angle probe, based on a surface wave echo outputted from a vertical probe, in a flaw detector using the angle probe. CONSTITUTION:A vertical probe 23 and an angle probe 24 of an ultrasonic flaw detector are put into the water, and vertical and oblique ultrasonic waves are made incident on an object to be inspected 25 in the water from both the probes 23, 24. These ultrasonic waves are reflected as a surface wave echo and a defective wave echo, respectively, from the object to be inspected 25, converted to electric signals by each probe 23, 24, and outputted to pulsar receiver circuits 21, 22. The pulsar receiver circuit 21 generates a trigger pulse signal being a reference pulse signal by an electric signal by the vertical probe 23. This trigger signal is delayed suitably by a delaying circuit 29, and sent to a gate signal generating circuit 30. The gate signal generating circuit 30 opens a gate by this trigger signal, and catches and measures the defective wave echo which is outputted by the angle probe 24, and inputted through the pulsar receiver 22. |
