PURPOSE:To accurately discriminate the carrying number of sheets, by arranging a detector in a direction orthogonal to the carrying direction of the sheet, and providing a sheet carrying number discriminating means consisting of a pulse generating means which generates a prescribed time pulse corresponding to the detection of the sheet and a circuit which takes the OR of pulses. CONSTITUTION:For example, three reflection type optical sheet detects 10-12 which detect the sheet P to be carried are arranged in line in the direction orthogonal to the sheet carrying direction between carrying belts 4 and 5, and are connected to the sheet carrying number discriminating means 14. The sheet carrying number discriminating means 14 is constituted of the pulse generating means 15-17 consisting of a monostable multivibrator which generates the pulse of time T replying to each rise of the output of the sheet detectors 10-12 and the OR circuit 18 which takes the sum of those pulses. In such a way, it is possible to count the number of carried sheets P by a counter 9 accurately. |
