PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material excellent in properties for color formation of inks and capable of recording of images high in resolution and resistant to water and light, by incorporating an N,N'-dialkylaminopropyl(meth)acrylamide polymer into a base or a coated layer provided on the base. CONSTITUTION:A recording material comprises, in a base or in a coated layer provided on the base, an N,N'-dialkylaminopropyl(meth)acrylamide homopolymer, a copolymer of an N,N'-dialkylaminopropyl(meth)acrylamide with (meth) acrylamide and/or other vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith and substantially not containing carboxyl groups, or a salt thereof. The recording material shows rapid absorption of inks into the inside thereof and rapid fixation of the inks, and gives clear images. The images thus obtained have excellent water resistance and light resistance. Thus, the recording material is preferable for use as an ink jet recording material. |
