PURPOSE:To obtain inexpensively the title sinter having any desired porosity, any desired pore size and any desired strength, by mixing a pore forming substance being soluble in a solvent and undergoing no chemical change during sintering with a synthetic resin powder, pressing and molding this powder, sintering the molding and treating the sinter with a solvent. CONSTITUTION:A pore forming substance being soluble in a solvent, e.g., water, and undergoing no chemical change during sintering, such as salt, is mixed with a synthetic resin powder, e.g., PP or rigid of flexible PE or PVC, and this power is pressed and molded to a molding. The pressed molding is sintered at a specified temperature and washed with a solvent to remove said pore forming substance by dissolution. In this way, a porous synthetic resin sinter can be produced. According to this process, it is possible to obtain a sinter having any desired porosity and any desired pore size and to vary freely the strength of the sinter. Therefore, it is possible to provide a sinter which is the most suitable for the intended use. |
