PURPOSE:To improve desilverability and color stain and to enhance the recolorability of a cyan dye by successively subjecting a sensitive material to color development, processing with a bleach-fix bath by a multi-tank countercurrent system and processing with a specified alkali soln. CONSTITUTION:An exposed silver halide color photographic sensitive material is color-developed and processed with a bleach-fix bath by a multi-tank countercurrent system using 2-4 tanks. The processed sensitive material is then processed with an alkali soln. of >=8.0 pH to improve defective recoloring. A buffer which is stable in an aq. soln. of >=8.0 pH may be added to the alkali soln. so as to increase the pH buffering capacity. The alkali soln. is effective in increasing the rate of recoloring reduced by a bleaching accelerator used to accelerate bleach-fixing. Thus, desilverability and color stain during development are improved and the recolorability of a cyan dye is improved. |
