A diode 1 with variable capacitance is arranged between the two terminals of the dipole 10. A coupler 2 taps off a signal of frequency equal to that of the current which passes through the dipole 10. A frequency-discriminating circuit 3 receives the said signal and controls a circuit 4 for biasing the diode 1, in such a way that the increase in the frequency causes a reduction in the reactance of the dipole 10. The reactive dipole of the invention makes possible in particular the matching of a microwave load, for example of an antenna, within a frequency range. <IMAGE>
