PURPOSE:To select a preload in accordance with a using purpose to make the captioned damper usable by hosing a spiral spring into a housing which enables a rotating operation out of a casing and fixing the outer end of the spiral spring to the housing. CONSTITUTION:In order to determine a preload applied to a spiral spring 13, a pinion 6 for winding up the spiral spring 13 from the inner end is retained with a finger not to rotate, and a housing 4 to which the outer end of the spiral spring 13 is fixed is rotated on the outside of the casing 1 to wind up the spiral spring 13 from its outer end. Then, by removing the finger from the pinion 6, the pinion 6 is allowed to rotate and the rotating time of the pinion is measured. And, by repeating such operations, when the housing 4 is rotated as many times as the optimum rotating time of the pinion 6 for use is obtained, the housing 4 is fixed to the casing 1. Thereby, the dispersions of the damper torque of a braking board 11 and the torque of the spiral spring 13 can be absorbed enabling the selection and determination of preload in accordance with a using purpose. |
