Emergency braking indicator with a first memory (31) which stores a value which indicates the speed in a first timing unit, and with a second memory (3) which stores the speed value in a subsequent timing unit, a comparison of the two values being carried out in a comparator such that if a reduction of the output value of the comparator below a predetermined level is detected, a warning device (9) is actuated and triggered. An oscillator (1) which can be operated at a frequency of 0.5 Hz or 1 Hz is provided in order to control the operating time of the first and second memories by clocking. The speed values are preferably derived using a counter (2) which is reset after a preset time by a delay circuit (5).
