The invention relates to a medical, in particular dental, hand-held instrument with a handpiece and at least one instrument provided on this handpiece, the instrument having a shaft section which is anchored in a recess provided in the handpiece in order to fasten the instrument on the latter. The invention is distinguished in that the shaft section is anchored in the recess by a thermoplastic material.
