PURPOSE:To reduce the non-sensitive region between photomultiplier tubes and to enhance detection accuracy, by forming the upper and lower surface parts of a particle detector crystal body into a diamond shape and providing a slot therein. CONSTITUTION:In a scintillation crystal body 40 consisting of an upper surface part 42 and a lower surface part 44 having 60 deg.- apexes 46, 48 and 120 deg.- apexes 50, 52 and formed into a diamond shape, two slots 58, 60 are provided. Six crystal bodies 40 are combined to be arranged as a particle detector assembly. By this method, the non-sensitive region between photomultiplier tubes can be reduced and detection accuracy can be enhanced.
