PURPOSE:To obtain a granular additive which is not dissolved in the rumen of a ruminant and dissolved, digested and absorbed in the abomasum or thereafter when a substance having high solubility is administered to a ruminant, by optimizing the balance of the quantity and composition of the core and the coating of a granule. CONSTITUTION:The objective feed additive for ruminant contains a physiologically active substance having a water solubility of >=30g/100g H2O or having deliquescence, e.g. choline, choline chloride, lysine hydrochloride, vitamin B, vitamin C or nicotinic acid amide. A granule is prepared from a composition composed of 40-80% of the above physiologically active substance, 4-30% of a dissolution suppresser such as a 14-22C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, a solubility controlling agent such as a cellulose derivative, a granulation assistant, etc. The granule is coated with a film-forming agent composed of 50-98% of a dissolution suppresser and 2-50% of a solubility controlling agent. |
