PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductor stably showing superconductivity for a long period without using liquid helium and being influenced by a surrounding atmosphere such as temperature in air, comprising a compound containing barium, lanthanide, copper, oxygen and fluorine. CONSTITUTION:A superconductor comprising a compound containing barium, lanthanide, copper, oxygen and fluorine. A compound having the following composition formulas of (a) or (b) is preferable as the compound. (a) BaxA1-xCudeltaO3-yF3-z (A is lanthanide; 0<x<1: 0<delta<3; 0<=y<=2; 0<=z<3). (b) BaxA2-xCu O4-yF4-x (A is lanthanide; 0<x<2; 0<delta<3; 0<=y<=2; 0<=z<4). At least one selected from La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu is used as the lanthanide. |
