A facility for cleaning or detoxifying flue gases generated in the operation of furnaces for heating systems and removed by forced convection comprises two or more cleaning devices located one after another in the direction of flow of the flue gas, the upstream one consisting of a filter device and the downstream one of a catalyst device. Both cleaning devices are located in a separate cleaning duct which branches off from the vent flow path and rejoins it, and also contains a blower for the forced convection of the flue gas. An isolating valve associated with the cleaning duct can be moved from an open position that releases the flue-gas access for operation of the cleaning devices, depending on interruptions in service of the cleaning devices, to a closed position that blocks the access of the flue gas to the cleaning duct; simultaneously, the vent flow path for bypassing the cleaning devices to vent the flue gases is released.
