PURPOSE:To enable different papers to be alternatively used in a switched manner, by providing a plurality of tractors located on the paper inlet side of a printing position in each paper passage and driven selectively, and a paper-feeding roller pair located on the paper outlet side of the printing position and constantly driven, in a printer having a plurality of paper passages with different paper inlets. CONSTITUTION:At the time of feeding a fanfold paper through a passage of an arrow B, a leading end part of the paper is set to pins 3 of a tractor 2, and a passage of arrows B-T is selected by a switch. When a paper detector B4 shows the presence of the paper, a paper-feeding pulse motor 13 is reversely rotated, then forward rotation is started after recognition of the paper, and printing is started when a paper detector T8 shows the presence of the paper. A similar process is conducted also for a passage of an arrow R. At the time of interrupting or finishing the process associated with the passage of the arrows B-T followed by switching to another paper, the last page of the paper being used is removed, and the another paper is set on a tractor 5. When a passage of arrows R-T is selected by the switch, the leading end of the paper in the preceding passage is retracted to a position 51b, resulting in that printing on another paper can be performed. |
