An electrical total-immersion thermometer for a standing or flowing medium to be measured, in particular for water, has a connecting carrier (1) which is preferably designed as a threaded bushing, a protective fitting (2) which is fastened in the connecting carrier (1) in a sealing manner, projects into the medium to be measured and is preferably tube-shaped, and a temperature sensor (3) arranged in the protective fitting (2). The temperature sensor (3) in the protective fitting (2) is electrically insulated from the medium to be measured, but connected in a heat-conducting manner to the medium to be measured via the protective fitting (2). The temperature sensor (3) has a sensor element which is preferably designed as a semiconductor, and electrical connecting lines which are guided in the protective fitting (2) to the connecting carrier (1). The thermometer is particularly compact, reacts extremely quickly and can be produced at low cost. It is furthermore particularly suitable for use in electronic thermostats for water mixer taps (fittings), if the protective fitting is a casing (jacket) (2), which is directly applied to the sensor element and to the connecting lines merely leaving out the connecting ends of the connecting lines, which is of an electrically insulating material which is a good heat conductor, cannot be corroded by the medium to be measured and is preferably mechanically resistant, in particular in the form of a thermo-shrinkable tubing shrunk onto the sensor element and the connecting lines. <IMAGE>
