In order to achieve an easier grip by simple means and without specially designed handle elements on a handle for water-bearing sanitary fittings, which consists of a cup-shaped handle shell, and of a likewise approximately cup-shaped handle insert which is rigidly connected to this handle shell and which is fitted into the handle shell in the same direction and has a central driving toothing for a valve top, elements for improving grip and markings for hot or cold water being affixed to the handle shell, and also the easy grip and the marking of the handle being effected by one and the same element, it is proposed that the handle shell (1) have, near its outlet, openings (4) distributed at intervals over the circumference, and that the handle insert (2) be made of coloured plastic material, the handle insert (2) having, in the area of the openings (4) in the handle shell (1), locking cams (3) which project radially outwards and extend through these openings (4). <IMAGE>
