A metal holding ring which has two metal holding springs arranged opposite on the periphery, two nubs being opposite and offset by 1/2 PI with respect to the holding springs, carries a dirt-collecting plate and is releasably attached to the ceiling of the cooking space. A more evenly distributed energy in the cooking space is achieved by means of a total of four discontinuities formed by the two holding springs and two nubs and specific to the microwave. <IMAGE>
