<p>A printing ink comprises a solution of one or more linear amorphous polymers of alphaolefins and having an intrinsic viscosity of from 0,2 to 1 with a dye or pigment. It is preferred that the proportion of poly-alpha-olefin to the total solid portion is at least 10%. Polypropylene, polybutene-1 or their mixtures may be used, while conmarone-indene, natural resins, a zinc salt of a resin acid, a phenol-formaldehyde resin, a glycerophthalic resin, acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymers, paraffin or a natural rubber may also be present in amounts from 3 to 5%. Chloroform paraffin, petroleum fractions, toluene, xylene, tetrachloroethane, o-dichlorobenzene, alpha-chloro-naphthalene, di-bromo-m-ethylene, cyclohexanone, cyclopetanone, methylethylketone, cyclohexane, tetrakyoronaphthalene, decahydronaphthalene, chlorobenzene, tetrachloroethylene and trichloroethylene are specified solvents. Specified dyes or pigments are carbon black, cadmium green, monastral solid blue, aluminium powder, titanium dioxide, Vinamon Red 2GS, Setacyl Yellow 3G and Cibacet Violet B.</p> |
