PURPOSE:To stabilize casting operation and to improve quality of a product by forming bottom face of a nozzle to slender rectangular shape and also arranging opening part in the side wall at short side of the nozzle body toward side weir in pouring basin. CONSTITUTION:The nozzle 8 is formed by double construction having an inner nozzle 9 and outer nozzle 10 and the shape of this bottom face is made to the slender rectangular shape corresponding to the molten metal surface in the pouring basin part. Next, the hole part 13 is formed at side face of the outer nozzle 10 facing the side weir 2a, 2b of the pouring basin part. The molten metal flowed down from the opening part 11 of the inner nozzle 9 penetrates porous refractory 12 in a large quantity of them and is poured into the pouring basin part 3. A part of the molten metal is poured into inner face of the side weirs 2a, 2b through the hole part 13. The molten metal under this over-heat condition prevents the development of solidified film at the side weir 2a, 2b and also restrains forming of casting fan. By this method, crack of the product and variation of the thickness are prevented and the casting operation is stabilized and the quality of the product is improved. |
