PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an antitumor agent, by isolating with extraction from mosses of the class Musci. CONSTITUTION:Mosses of the class Music [preferably Isothecium subdi versiforme or Thamnobryum sandei] are, for example pulverized by freezing and extracted with ether. Then the extracted product obtained by distilling the ether off is purified with column chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
