PURPOSE:To securely prevent the blow out of lubricating oil from a breather passage by providing the breather passage in a gear case so as to be connected to a small-diameter bevel gear out of bevel gears and generating a high negative pressure condition on the back part of the small-diameter bevel gear. CONSTITUTION:In a bearing cage member 108, the breather plug 98 of a breather passage for regulating pressure in a gear case is screwed up on the upper wall between the part on which of tapered roller bearing 102 and 104 are provided, i.e., on the back side of a small diameter rear-wheel driving gear 38 engaged with a large diameter rear-wheel output gear 36. In the vicinity of the part in which the breather plug 98 is provided, a pumping action is generated due to the high speed ratio of the rear-wheel driving gear 38 and air in the cage member 108 flows out into the air in between transfer cases 72, 74 causing the part to be in a most negative pressure condition. Thereby, air is sucked in from the breather passage, securely preventing a lubricating oil from blowing out of the breather passage.
