摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the separative efficiency of a trnsfer sheet, by applying the voltage being adverse in polarity to the transfer charge, to an electric conductor within the range of the tip side of a transfer sheet, and after that, on the contrary, by applying the voltage of the same polarity as that of the transfer charge. CONSTITUTION:When the tip of a transferred sheet S goes into a sheet separating position A between a photoreceptor 1 and an electric conductor belt 5, at the tip side of the sheet S, for instance, within about 3mm. range from the tip edge, negative voltage being adverse in polarity to the transfer charge polarity is applied to the electric conductor belt 5 by a bias voltage applying circuit 6. Subsequently, within the range of the residual transfer sheet part extending to the rear end except the tip side, positive voltage of the same polarity as the transfer charge polarity is applied to the electric conductor belt 5. In this way, the separating efficiency of a transfer sheet is improved.
