The optical detection device, which can be used in particular for determining the attitude of a geosynchronous satellite or of a low-orbit terrestrial observation satellite, comprises a casing 10 fitted with an internal support 12 for fastening an optical member with a semi-reflecting plane surface in an angular position which can be adjusted near a plane of symmetry, which casing is pierced with holes for mounting array detectors 24 on either side of the plane of symmetry, and with openings 18 for passage of the incident light, fitted with guides 20 delimiting the fields. <IMAGE>
