The invention concerns a method and a device for preparing a solution, emulsion or suspension of a sensitive medical substance in an aqueous medium, and subsequent injection thereof. In the method according to the invention, a two-chamber barrel ampoule 1 known per se is used for mixing the aqueous medium 11 and the medical substance 10, the aqueous medium 11 being caused to flow smoothly from the bottom upwards through the medical substance 10, avoiding any shaking and admixing of air. The mixing is preferably carried out at a pressure above atmospheric pressure. The invention further concerns an injection device for preparing an injection solution and subsequent injection of the solution. The device comprises a front part 13 which encloses a two-chamber barrel 1 in which the dry medical substance 10 is present, separate from a liquid phase 11, and a rear part 14 which encloses a dosing and administration mechanism 22. When the two parts are screwed together, the liquid phase 11 is mixed with the dry medical substance 10 and brings this into solution, and the finished solution can then be injected, by means of the dosing and administration mechanism 22, through a cannula 17 arranged at the front end of the front part 13. For medical substances which are sensitive to mechanical effects, the invention permits the mixing of the dry substance and aqueous medium and also the subsequent handling of the prepared medium to be done so smoothly that deterioration of the quality of the medical substance through mechanical action is minimized. <IMAGE> |
