<p>In a process for measuring the profile of an irregular reflecting surface as a function of the distance between each point of this profile and a polychromatic light source, a flat beam of light is produced from the light from this source, for example, and represented on the profile by a chromatic lens element. The height of the profile is derived from the differentially coloured light strips so formed. The relief of the object is reconstructed by analysis with a spectral dispersion apparatus.</p> |
