A plurality of superposed drawers (2) have, in each case at the rear end, a locking part (12) equipped with an actuating lug (40). The latter cooperates with a locking bar (10) extending over all the drawers (2), the locking bar having an angular cross-section. On pulling out a drawer (2), said actuating lug (40) pivots the locking bar (10) in such a way that opening of the other drawers (2) is impossible. Only after closure of the drawer does the actuating lug (40) move the locking bar (10) into the unlocked position. A central locking mechanism (14) makes it possible to block the locking bar (10) in the locked position. To make it possible to close a drawer even when the locking bar (10) is blocked in this way, the locking parts (12) are in each case mounted so as to be pivotable on the drawers (2) and are prestressed into the normal position by means of a prestressing spring (55). It is possible for the locking parts to yield to a blocked locking bar (10) on closure of a drawer (2). <IMAGE>
