A description is given of a wiper system for motor vehicles, in which the drive element, which is driven via an oscillating gear mechanism, rests in a parking position against a rigid stop. So that in such a design the drive does not jam or get blocked, at least one knuckle joint is constructed elastically in such a manner in the motion transmission system between drive element and driven element that the pivot pin or the articulation point in general can be displaced.
