The present invention concerns insulation for house foundations of the type comprising adjacently placed elements consisting of a relatively thin slab and joists attached to this slab and stiffening it, which elements serve as an outer boundary from the surrounding ground. The novel feature is that the outwardly facing slab 1 consists of a stiff cellular plastic material with good ability to withstand mechanical stresses, which slab is connected, by means of securing members engaging with the plastic material, to joists 2 made of wood arranged on the inside of the slab, that at least an upper section of the outwardly facing side of the slab is covered with a grout-like material 3 adhering to the slab, that the elements made up of such a slab and joists are designed to be set up tightly alongside each other to form the outer boundary of the foundation and, resting on longitudinal supports 5, to support the above structure, and that the elements with slabs 1 of cellular plastic material forming the foundation are complemented, for the purposes of heat conservation, by slabs 14 of similar material which are arranged outside the foundation and slope downwards and outwards therefrom to form a screen. <IMAGE> |
