<??>An angular reference position VN0 is marked of a shaft moving about this angular position by sampling the current measurement VX of this position. From N samples and from a stored value of VN0 an estimate is obtained of the position of the stored value relative to the corresponding value obtained from analysing the sampling. The stored value VN0 is corrected as a function of the estimate made. The above steps are repeated iteratively on the N latest samples taken.
