A vehicle seat with adjustable lumbar support which comprises a non-extensible cable or wire (6) having at least a first end section (5) stretched horizontally across the back (2), in its portion ensuring lumbar support, a second end section (7) wound on a suitable drum (9) integral with a control handle (10) and an intermediate section (8) housed under a sheath (12) and connecting the two end sections.
