PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of a magnetic fluid sealing device by forming a cut groove on the inner peripheral part of an annular magnetic and allowing the magnetic fluid for supply to be held. CONSTITUTION:Sixteen cut grooves m1 are formed at the equal intervals in the axial direction of a shaft on the inner peripheral part of an annular magnet 10, and hold the magnetic fluid. Therefore, the ridge line part (e) formed between the inner peripheral surface (a) of the magnet 10, inclined surface (b) and the inner surface (f) of the groove m1 form the part for easily generating the leak magnetic flux. Therefore, when the magnetic fluid held between a sealing member and a shaft is exhausted, the magnetic fluid held in the cut groove m1 is supplied into between the magnet 10 and a shaft through the ridge line (e) and further into between the pole pieces 4 and 5 and the shaft part or supplied into between the pole pieces 4 and 5 and the shaft through a V-shaped groove and further into between the magnetic 10 and the shaft. Therefore, the service life of the magnetic fluid seal can be prolonged. |
