PURPOSE:To obtain the required number of printing information, by a method wherein a printing and paper discharging means conducts the printing and paper-discharge of information in the read order, and the continuous processing is repeated by the times of the required number. CONSTITUTION:With an input of retrieval data, a main control part 8 reads retrieval data which was stored at the registration of information from an external memory 12, compares it with the input retrieval data, and displays a list of coincident candicate information on a CRT 6. A printing object information is selected from among displayed candicates, and a hard copy output command is issued to the main control part 8 from a keyboard 7 etc. Then, the main control part 8 detects an output method type switch 13, descriminates an output method of a printer 14 between a face-up method and a face-down method, and reads the appropriate information fro a registration position of an optical disk in the external memory 12 corresponding to the retrieval data. The read information is expanded and decoded by a code decoding circuit 9 and stored once in a page memory 3; thereafter, a hard copy is outputted from the printer 14 according to the detected output method.
