PURPOSE:To improve the stability with age of a dye, and to reduce the residual color by incorporating a specified dye in the titled material, thereby dying a hydrophilic colloidal layer, without having effects upon photographic characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The titled material contains one or more kinds of the dyes shown by the formula wherein R<1> and R<4> are each alkyl or aryl group, etc., R<2> and R<5> are each alkyl or a heterocyclic ring group, etc., R<3> and R<6> are hydrogen atom. or cyano group, etc., Z<1> is oxygen or NR<10>, Z<2> is oxygen or NR<11>, R<10> and R<11> together with R<1> and R<4> are a nonmetal atomic group necessary for forming 5 membered ring, L1-L3 are each methine group, (n) is 0-2. The dye shown by the formula can be dispersed in an emulsion layer or an another hydrophilic colloidal layer by various kinds of methods. The colored layer having the excellent decoloring property and stability with age, without having adverse effects upon the photographic characteristics is obtd. by incorporating the dye shown by the formula in the titled material.
