PURPOSE:To change character sizes for each paragraph and to improve the efficiency of input operation by using a partial size change instruction means which gives an instruction to change the characters into each designated size. CONSTITUTION:An input sentence is converted into a continuous paragraph and the position of the paragraph is designated by a paragraph cursor position designating means 1. A deciding means decides that the paragraph is kept within a range designated by the means 1 and also the character type is coincident with that indicated by a character kind indicating means 3. If an instruction is given from a partial size changing means 2, a control means 5 changes the size of the character kind decided by the means 4 is changed the character size instructed by the means 2. Thus the character size can be changed against the designated character type for each paragraph and the input operation efficiency is improved.
