PURPOSE:To attain a high speed access and to improve the performance of a multi-processor type information system by utilizing an expansion storage device which is a semi-conductor storage device as a common memory. CONSTITUTION:The titled system consists of plural processor groups 0, 1...(n-1) and a common expansion storage device ESU to be connected with a memory controller MCU for the processors. The expansion storage device ESU is a semi-conductor memory similarly to a main storage unit MSU and used for a paging memory between respective processor groups, a common data storing area among processor groups and a communicating area among the processor groups, the storing area of recovery information and an exclusive controlling area among processors. The range of utilization is expanded, a high speed access is possible and the performance of a multiprocessor system can be improved.
