The invention relates to a convertible mattress and more particularly, but not exclusively, to a mattress for preventing gastroesophageal reflux in infants. It is characterised in that it consists of: - at least two main prismatic blocks 2, 3 connected together via one of their transverse edges and one of them 2 having a longitudinal section presenting, at least approximately, the shape of a right-angled triangle, the other block 3 having a longitudinal section presenting, at least approximately, the shape of a right-angled trapezium, - a means 8 for connecting the two blocks 2, 3 via one of their transverse edges, this connection taking place after the block of triangular cross-section has been oriented in such a way that the face on the side comprising the hypotenuse is opposite the inclined face of the other block, whose small base is thus opposite the face on the side comprising the right angle of the right-angled triangle forming with the hypotenuse the abovementioned angle.
