PURPOSE:To enhance painting efficiency, by a method wherein the leading end of a painting arm is allowed to approach the suction port of a cup body, which has begun to rotate, while gradually decelerates to stop in the state where it is slightly brought into contact with the suction port and rapidly drawn up after painting is completed. CONSTITUTION:When the rotary motion of a turntable 4 is intermittently stopped, a cup receiving pad 2b for a cup to be painted is rotated by the motor 7 for rotating the cup receiving pad shaft 5b provided to a turntable mechanism. At the same time, compressed air is supplied to an air cylinder 8 and an air dripping gun 18 to supply paint and the leading end of a painting arm 13 approaches the suction port of a cup body 3b while gradually decelerates to perform painting in the state where it is slightly brought into contact with the suction port of the cup body. After a set time for completing painting is elapsed, the supply of a compressed air and the supply of paint are stopped and the leading end of the painting arm 13 is rapidly detached from the suction port of the cup body 3b. As a result, the painting efficiency to the suction port of the cup can be enhanced to a large extent.
