The invention relates to a cuboid gable package for bulk materials made of a composite laminated plastic on a backing material, whose top is closed by a web seam, forming two triangular folding flaps lying doubled against the end sections of the web seam, each folding flap being folded over outwards onto the respective side wall in each case over a straight bending edge, and the packaging material having longitudinally and transversely or obliquely running groove lines for the body and bottom or gable edges. Provision is made on a package of this type for at least one auxiliary groove line, running outside the alignment of the body groove lines to be made in the gable region in addition to the vertical body groove lines, as a result of which it is achieved that, in the production of thick-walled packages and ultimately when closing the latter in the filling machine, the durability of the web seam closure is maintained in its original production form, which means, in packages with relatively thick composite materials, that web seam ruptures are now avoided. <IMAGE>
