With the aid of a serving apparatus for balls, especially for tennis balls, it is intended to give the player the facility of learning particular strokes with precision by frequent repetition. This is only possible if the serving apparatus has a high hit rate for a predetermined small target area, i.e. has a high degree of target accuracy. A high degree of target accuracy is achieved when the ball feed is fixedly assigned to the serving discs and constant, and hence optimisable, collection conditions thus exist between ball and serving discs, irrespective of the orientation of the serving apparatus. <IMAGE>
