PURPOSE:To perform detection directly in an accurate manner by installing a detecting device, detecting oil discharge pressure in the pump inside, in the oil pump that feeds an engine with oil, and discriminating an oil supply to the engine according to this detected result. CONSTITUTION:In an oil pump 14, there is provided with a pressure chamber 32 to be interconnected to an oil inlet 30, while in this pressure chamber 32, there is provided with a plunger 28 free of lifting motion. And, a discharge port 36 of the oil pressurized by the plunger 28 is installed so as to be interconnected to the pressure chamber 32 via an interconnecting passage 38. in this constitution, a pressure detecting chamber 44 is solidly installed in the oil pump 14, and this pressure detecting chamber 44 is interconnected to the pressure chamber 32 via an orifice 46. And, a ball 48 being moved in vertical directions according to the internal pressure is housed in the pressure detecting chamber 44, while both light emitting and receiving diodes 50 and 52, where light is transmitted or intercepted according to movements of the ball 48, are set up as being opposed to each other. |
