A hub cap 8 which is intended to cover essentially the whole outside of a vehicle wheel comprises three parts, namely an outer annular disc 9, an annular attachment 10 and a central cover 11. With the aid of bolt connections, advantageously some of the bolt connections 3 of the wheel rim, the attachment 10 presses the disc 9 against the rim 1 in order to lock it securely in place. The central cover 11 is mounted on the attachment 10 and covers the bolt connections 3 and the wheel hub 4. Because the disc 9 is securely mounted on the rim 1 in this way, there is no risk of its coming loose during travel. The invention is especially advantageous in wheels for heavy vehicles where the hitherto known hub caps demand complicated fastenings. <IMAGE> |
