INSTRUMENT AND METHOD FOR CHEMICAL ANALYSIS

PURPOSE:To prevent the cracking of the surface of a film wound on a roll by specifying the diameter of the roll wound with an analyzing tape to >=30mm. CONSTITUTION:The analyzing tape 2 supplied from the roll 2a (the diameter of which is specified to >=30mm) in a cassette 3 is sent from a cold retaining chamber 4 out through a window provided with as shutter 8 to a measuring section. Low-humidity air is supplied atop the tape 2 en route thereof by a blasting means 5. The rear face of the tape 2 is preheated to a suitable temp. near room temp. by a preheater 7. An optical measurement probe 12 projects a luminous flux for measurement to the rear face of the tape 2 and receives the light reflected therefrom. The reflection optical density of the irradiated surface is measured by measuring the quantity of the reflected light. The tape 2 is transiently stopped by a heat retaining block 11 and is spotted 9 with a sample, following which the tape is kept at a desired temp. for a suitable period and thereafter, the reflection optical density is measured with the probe 12 and a photometric means 16. The cracking on the surface of the film wound on the roll 2a is thus obviated.
