PURPOSE:To improve the operatability of the titled device by registering a word adopted by 'KANA' (Japanese syllabary)/'KANJI' (Chinese character) conversion processing in a user dictionary, selecting a system dictionary or the user dictionary, switching the dictionary to be used on the way of 'KANA'/'KANJI' conversion processing, and executing said processing again. CONSTITUTION:An input part 1 is provided with a selection key 909 for selecting one of 'KANA'/'KANJI' conversion candidates in addition to a conversion key 903 for instructing the start of 'KANA'/'KANJI' conversion processing, a system dictionary conversion key 905, a user dictionary conversion key 911, and so on. When the result of 'KANJI' conversion is not a purposed candidate at the time of inputting a reading character and the key 903 and converting the user dictionary, the change is requested by using the key 909 and its corrected result is registered in the user dictionary to continue the conversion of the user dictionary.
