NEW MATERIAL:The 2-(2-fluoro-4-biphenylyl)propionic acid ester of formula I (n is 1-3). EXAMPLE:3,7,11-Trimethyl-2,6,10-dodecatrien-1-yl 2-(2-fluoro-4-biphenylyl)propio nate. USE:Useful as an anti-inflammatory agent. It is effective for the remedy of inflam mation caused by various factors and has no side effects such as gastrointestinal injury. It can be administered by oral or parenteral administration. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a terpene alcohol of formula II or its reactive derivative with flurbiprofen (prefer ably 0.8-1.0 equivalent of an acid chloride of flurbiprofen based on the com pound of formula II) in the presence of a tertiary organic base (e.g. triethylamine) at about 0 deg.C- room temperature.
