PURPOSE:To reduce loads on workers at the time of designer's drawing and to improve the processing efficiency of a CAD system by recognizing a part having width equal to the thickness of a material from the drawing handwritten by the designer by using a simplified method. CONSTITUTION:A drawing input means 1 inputs a drawing based on the simplified method for collecting the thickness of the material on one position to display the drawing as an image. A shape line of the inputted image is divided in each unit element and recognized by a shape line recognizing means 2. A pair of locuses having an inclination allowing respective parts of one locus to almost coincide with respective corresponding parts of the other locus is extracted by an inclination comparing means 3. A horizontal arrangement confirming means 4 extracts a pair of unit elements allowing respective locuses to be superposed out of the pairs of unit elements having almost coincident inclinations. Then, a pair of unit elements whose mutual interval is equal to the thickness of said material is extracted by a spacing material thickness comparing means 5. |
