NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [R<1>, R<2> are lower alkyl or they incorporate to form alkylene; Y, Y' are formula II (Ar is phenyl which may be substituted; A is O, S), formula III (R<3>, R<4> are H, lower alkyl, Ar), formula IV (A' is A; R<5> is lower alkyl), formula V; the group of formula IV may bond to any position among 1,2,3 of trimethylene] or it salt. EXAMPLE:S,S'-(2-Dimethylaminomethyl)trimethylene di(thiobenzoate). USE:An active ingredient for insecticidal and acaricidal compositions. As having low toxicity and low residual effect, it manifests safe and excellent controlling effects against insect pests. PREPARATION:The reaction of a compound of formula VII (Z<1> is halogen, alkylsulfonyloxy, arylsulfonyloxy) with another compound of the formula: H-S-Y is carried out in a solvent, when needed, in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst or an acid acceptor to give a compound of formula I where Y'=Y.
